Just curious if anyone else is missing this *feature* on their 20. Not that I'm heartbroken or anything.

Didn't work for me either. I think in the manual it says if the camera is on play or record for 5 minutes with no tape it is supposed to go into demo mode.

I'm more frustrated of not getting a 24hrs clock on my PAL European HV-20. I'll have to use the AM/PM stuff that the stange folks(:-) over there uses...

Did you use the power adapter to supply the power? It won't do it when running off of the battery.

Yeah, I was using the adapter. Tried leaving it in both REC mode and PLAY mode. There's no menu option for it either like it shows in the manual. It's simply doesn't exist on my unit.

I'm in N.A. but I still hear you. Another thing I found inconvenient was, to set the time zone, they don't use the standard time zone names. You have to choose a city in that zone instead.

That's the way Canon does time areas, by cities. I live in Florida and my time area is New York. Looks weird every time I see New York come up!

Since you mentioned it, I tested my camera and the demo mode does not work either. I guess you would only need it for a store demo camera anyway.
