Every now and then I receive a circulared email newsletter from P+S Technik.
Their latest advises of a new Mini35 version called the "Compact" and a highlighted feature is improved brightness. The Pro35 becomes a version 2. They also now offer a Mini35 for Sony V1/FX7 series and a relay lens version for 1/2" CCD.
Whilst the claim has not been made, generally, a brighter image corresponds with improved image sharpness, contrast and definition. It will be interesting to see if they have been able to maintain a good emulation of film bokeh effect.
They may well have trodden this course on their own as normal product improvement, in response to the demands of high definition but maybe, just maybe, they have raised the bar for alternative adaptors because these are now looking over the shoulder. Then again I could be just kidding myself.
I hope to kick the tyres and look under the hood if I am allowed to in June.
