hey guys, newcomer here!.

i recently got a GL-1 for about 400$ off of a buddy of mine. Came with everything, except the genius didnt include the dc coupler.

According to the manual, i need the DC-905 based on the charger i have.

Problem is the DC905 is discontinued, i cant find it anywhere. The souloution is buy another charger ...yea for 114$ when mine is just fine? ill pass.

the new DC coupler i beleive is the DC 920 (or maybe thats the charger)..either way, it looks like the only difference is the connector that plugs into the battery charger..which if thats the only difference, fine, ill replace the DC jack in the charger with one that fits.

Anybody point me to any site that might have the DC905? or tell me WHY the new DC coupler wont work with the old charger? Alsoi found some adaptor thats widely available that works witht he XL-1, but doesnt say its compatable with GL-1/2 (like every other product says)

Thanks in advance guys. I hope i can finally enjoy my camera longer than battery life!

You can use an XL-rated coupler with a GL, but you'll have to live with the viewfinder pointed upward slightly due to its different shape. No big deal for most people. Welcome to DV Info Net,
