I'm sure this must exist somewhere but I can't find it. I'm just wondering what solutions there are out there for live logging during production shoots. The thing I'm thinking is a system that broadcasts timecode wirelessly to a computer or PDA/PocketPC so that notes can be made and logging done very easily, and then these files transferred to the editor afterwards.

Anyone know of something like this (on an independent filmaker-type budget).

Just do a google search under "wireless timecode logging" and you'll find stuff.

Scriptlinc makes nice but expensieve stuff.

If you want to take a more "do it yourself" approach, Horita makes TC components that can work with your own wireless transmitters (Timcode signals are essentially audio signals) for remote logging.

And no, I dont' know WHY anyone hasn't adapted logging technology to work with 802.11g (or better yet "n") for remote logging via laptop.

THAT would be very cool.
