Shooting "Cine" 24p via the HV20 to tape.
Not using the HDMI out to CineForm Prospect...
Do I now need to hit the tickbox for Sony settings to get the 24p?
(The latest seems to not pull the 24p out of the 60i stream)

Not on Canon cameras, the 24f mode have a true 24p bit-stream.

Upload me a M2T clip so I can check it out. If you don't have an FTP site use yousendit.com to email to me.

David I also see on the box I'm on nero showtime has taken over as default renderer for m2t.'s(via WM) this is not the case on other box's....
I will get a ticket in...

may be a case of too many codecs(ffdshow) to little time

Adobe see's HDV as 29.97 not 23.97 via Cineform Prospect 23.97 setting
If I dont change the capture to progressive and not auto

Weird, this stream IS 60i with pulldown, unlike the Canon XL-H1. The Sony pulldown option works great on this clip. Load the clip into HDLink and set it for 2-3 pulldown extraction (nothing else) and you will get 24p of beautiful data.

Thanks David, I just came over to this thread to ask you about this issue. The HV20 has true progessive morphed into 60i, and it does not use 24F. Looks like you already support it!

Yes we all 24p modes from all HDV and P2 cameras. It just take a few moments to determine if pulldown extraction is need. So the HV20 requires pulldown. Canon, please send us one.

Hey David, I certainly do hope that Canon will send you an HV20 so you can make sure to fully support it. (Looking forward to getting my hands on one, too, even if for less pragmatic reasons!)

But in any case, their literature indicates without question that the 24p mode for that camera is simply a 2:3 pulldown to 60i. It doesn't do any progressive 30fps, only the 24p 2:3 and regular 60i. Plays back the F-Modes, but doesn't record them.

Looking forward to visiting your booth at NAB!
