They've had stock on and off the last couple days. I finally just broke down this morning and ordered mine. They also have a great sale price on tapes so I picked up some of those.

I *almost* ordered one from B&H yesterday, but decided to wait on the preorder I have with [ non-sponsor reference ] It's $180 less than B&H with no tax and free shipping. I tried to get B&H to price match but, of course, they wouldn't price match with someone who doesn't actually have the unit in stock..

Kind of a, "Good price, if you can get it." situation..

The last positive review was from 2004!!!! Looks VERY sketchy to me.

Although I'm not a fan of BH's preorder policy I did order from them............. since the cam is showing 'in stock'.

Thanks for the link, John. That is a little sketchy. However, no comments in the last 1.5 - 2 years, so maybe their service has gotten a little better.. Anyhow, It can't be any worse then when I ordered a big TV from Best Buy that was "in stock" and took 6 weeks to be delivered. I stuck it out though because I got a killer deal.

Same feeling with the HV20, I guess. For $919, I'll give it a little more time to see if it comes through. The worst thing that could really happen is that I get impatient and go buy it at a store or from somewhere else..

My local Canon authorized dealer [ non-sponsor reference ] is selling the HV20 for $925. I preordered from them, but have not yet received my camera. I do believe that supplies will be tight in the early going.
