I have been using several GL'1 for event work and am wondering if the HV20 would be a good replacement. We have a Canon A1 in our inventory, but I can not justify the budget to get several of them.
Any thoughts?
Thanks,
Chad

It's HD, so, it'll automatically offer greater resolution. I've used a GL2.. I'd replace the one I had used with an HV20 in a heartbeat due to the res. I stay away from SD now, because I can. If I had an SD project I have to do, I shoot in HD, edit, colour correct, and on export, down convert to SD.
I could say it depends on what your needs are, but, if you want resolution in a package that offers value, go for the HV20 - sell the GL2 while you still can!! lol

Thats what I was thinking, the only thing I may miss is the 20x optical zoom, since the GL1 has 20x.
It hard to justify bigger dollar equipment on location when clients do not want to spend the money on their production budgets. I have the A1 though when needed.
