i know that at the end of the day it's down to personal preferences, but has anyone found a 'sweet' spot where they're happy shooting run & gun style.

i ask cause i shoot doco's, and a lot of the time i don't have the luxury of set-up!

As in the "big" thread, a lot depends on how the TV's, LCD's, Plasma's deal with progressive footage and whom you are delivering for and what equipment they have to view with, but if you prefer sharper HDV then 5 seems a good compromise. If you like a more film look then 3. If you have the right gear you can go higher if you want it really sharp, but for the average equipment around at the present 5 seems the limit.
With interlaced I have had no problems with 7. It really boils down to what you are happy with in the final product and believe me that depends on a lot of factors mostly how you treat the video in and out of your NLE and what format you deliver it in HDV or SD.
