I've borrowed an ATR55 to have a play, and I'm getting complete silence. This is most likely because of a flat battery, but I don't have a user manual.

Does anyone have a user manual handy? Can you please let me know how to get into the thing?

Just unscrew the bottom half below the switch (the part with the cable connected to it) to expose the battery.
