Hey guys, i am finding the focus a little fast or jumpy so i went ahead and switch it slow. But i would like to know what are you guys using and what do you think is the best, leave it in normal or slow it. Thx in advance.

in addition to this, does this cam have a focus peaking option?
What kind of focus assist fetures does it actually have...

The camera has peaking. By increasing the sharpness setting of the VF and LCD the peaking is more obvious. The camera has a magnification button whic blows up the image on the VF & LCD.
In addition to those features the canon has Instant AF using technology from its still cameras. It is the swiftest AF system I have used. It's ideally suited to the push AF role and I have found it very reliable.
Kiflom, I've got my focus setting to Slow too.

Hi Tony,
thanks for the response, i use canon gear for my stills work and know how precise and accurate the AF is.. instant is indeed pretty much instant abotu a second at the most in decent light anyway..
Ive heard along the traps that some people are using a canon 580ex with the A1... does anyone know if the A1 uses that speedlights additional IR to assist with the video functions?
Also can one allocate a focal point (as found in canon DSLR) by selecting a focal point within the frame? I know its a long shot and it sounds like a silly question, but i know some sony cameras have this ability with their touchscreen point focus... i just wanna be sure...

No. That would be a nice feature. Perhaps on the XH-A2??? :)
