I'm keen to have my microphone isolated where practically possible from the A1 and was wondering what your thoughts are regarding this.
I'd be keen not to use the hot-shoe, as I'd like to have the facility to use this for something else should the situation arise.
I've attached a modification that I had fitted to a PD150. The mod was really handy as it kept the mic well away from the mechanics of the camera.. It also allowed me to fit a Rycote to a shotgun and not have it in shot when a w/a lens was fitted.
I'm aware of the J-rod, and had a look at a few of the shock mounts at B&H, though I'm keen to get feedback from folk who have actually bought, used or tried a variety of systems.
Many thanks
Neil
P.S. - Mods, feel free to move this post if it will be better served in the "Now Hear This" section.
