Anyone know if this is any different than the 7.7.5.1 update released already? The Nero site doesn't show anything later.

The update consistently crashes for me halfway through any transcode of AVCHD to MPEG-2. Anyone having any success with this update? 7.7.5.1 didn't have this problem.

Skip this slow software and get the Blackmagic Intensity card. Much simpler.

I really don't want to deal with uncompressed HD files, what is it about 120 megabytes/second? :-)

Cineform makes that tolerable.

I just find Nero to be very slow in the workflow.

Hopefully our NLE's will have support soon enough. ;)

Any comments on the AVCHD authoring in Nero 7? Does it generate menus for you? What sort of authoring options do you have? Will it encode your AVI files or whatever into AVC, or will it only deal with files already encoded in the AVHD .mt2s format?

I have been using Nero again, the had some problems. Now it gives me "runtime error" with every decode.

I have the Sony HDR-SR1 which generates the AVCHD (.m2ts) files.
I have an XBOX360 w/o the HD DVD player (yet).
I have Windows XP w/ Service Pack 2 and all updates.

Day before yesterday I bought the Nero 7 Ultimate Enhanced version.
Nero's product support told me not to load the CD but to download the latest 7.8.5.0 from their downloads section and install that. Did it.

I burned three .m2ts files to a DVD+R with the Nero software (flawlessly and error free) and the DVD played flawlessly and error free on the XBOX 360.
The result: a beautiful 16:9 pretty high definition image if you ask me.

I'm extremely pleased with the results.

Good luck!

I have been using Nero's AVI option during export to export a Cineform AVI which has been working well.

Anyone correct me if I'm wrong please. Even if Nero burns an m2t to DVD, the output is in a maximum of 480p (EDTV). We'll just have to see if you can make an m2t ffile editable in Nero7 and then produce an 1080i output in HD-DVD or Blu Ray

Is Nero's output only MPEG2? Or is it indeed AVC?

Derek,
That you used to export with Nero? Are there any settings like size that I should pay attention to?
I am new to Nero.
Thanks,
Lp

I have been exporting in AVI with the Cineform 2.5 codec at 1440x1080.

Funny thing about it is, the output file doesn't play super fast like a typical Cineform file in Vegas. So, it works, but it's still not ideal (framerate playback speed) for some reason.
