Do you think the HV20 footage, downcoverted to SD is as good or very close to on par with the 3ccd camera's (like fx1, A1 etc)? Or is it only on par when footage is kept in HD???
Of course, no one has actually tried the HV20, so let's compare with the HV10, assuming good lighting.
Cheers,
Michael

Also follow up, how's the HV's stabilizer compared to say the A1s? Is camera shake more apparent in the HV's?

I think it's better/equal to higher-end SD 3CCD cameras (Higher-end being proconsumer)
All the footage I've shot looks incredible at HD resolutions and still looks amazing when converted down for like a DVD...

Sounds good. To clarify, when I say 3CCD, I am referring to 3CCD HDV cams such as:
Canon A1
Sony FX1 / Z1U and V1U

Ah... lol... I was totally not thinking...
I have seen footage from HDR-FX1's... one was shot in progressive, the other interlaced, the progressive looked better imo, but the interlaced looked exactly like the HV10... worse at times (the guy didn't know how to use his settings right)

www.stealthmedia-productions.com = HDR-FX1 stuff... it's compressed but not too bad...
