I'm looking at the Bescor MPL-635PRB Light Kit, and a Anton Bauer UL2-20 Light. Anyone have experience with either of these that can make a comment? How much wattage does one need for average outside interviews during daylight? Are these models too strong, or too weak, at 75watts or so? Mike Rupp

Mike,

75 watts won't do much in the daylight, especially after you color correct it with a filter. If all you're trying to do is eliminate some shadow with an on camera light it'll help but won't do much more in my experience.

A much more powerful and controllable tool is a reflector. White paper, gaterboard, purpose-made foldable models all do wonders. Of course they do require another set of hands.

I'd go for 100 Watts if you are going to stick with Halogen lights. HMI, if you have the money are naturally daylight in color temperature and use much less power for the same output.
