Four simple questions:

1. Is there a Vegas User Group in the UK?

2. If so, can someone please post details.

3. If not, are there enough Vegas users in the UK to warrant one?

4. What happens in a User Group?!

Cheers!

Ian . . I tried this about 4 years back? We had a couple of meets. One at the NFT bar and a one lunch in a certain User's house - mmm nice roast beef!

However. I'm IN!!

Have a look here for "UK" Users:

And you STILL owe me that beer?

But I guess what you are after is a Virtual Users Group .. of . . er, REAL Users rather than meeting up?

In any event, I think your LAST question:

4. What happens in a User Group?!

. . . should come first.

What would YOU get out of it?

Wotcha Grazie!

Ah, you keep catching me on that beer!

Well, maybe a User Group would be a good opportunity to do just that!

Actually, I WAS thinking of a physical, rather than virtual, meeting. But I guess that's going to depend on numbers and locations. If there are three UK based users it seems a little pointless! If there are thirty three then there's more value to it.

In terms of what I would get out of it, I suppose I would benefit from:

- being able to see what other users have done with Vegas
- being able to show my work and get feedback
- share tips and ideas
- make new contacts
- buy you that beer
- get one back off ya

Why did your attempt four years ago end? Limited interest? Not sure what Sony's presence is like in the UK; I wonder if they would be interested in hosting something.

The reason all this kicked off is because I'm jealous of our cousins across the pond who seem to have Vegas User Groups down to individual street level. Also, I saw somebody asking for speakers at a Premier User Group meeting hosted by Adobe here in the UK and it got me thinking.

I don't plan exploring this further until after I get back from my little trip to Africa but I think it's worth looking into.

Cheers!
