I'd be interested in building this if someone could just point me to a schematic or a page on voltage reducers. I can't seem to find any.

A first search in Google got me this:

http://www.rc-cam.com/dc-dc.htm

Something like the LM7805 voltage regulator should work fine. As you can see it's only three parts: one regulator (for the voltage you want) and two capacitors. The regulator may need a heatsink, if the current needed is large. And a small pcb, if you want to, to make things tidier. So it's 5 parts.

You will need a solder pen, some solder wire and some cable. You should watch polarities very carefully and check everything with a DMM after it's ready. Never plug your electronics until you are sure polarities are OK.

There are other projects like above on the web, if you look around. Some explain things very well, so you can follow the photos.

Good luck.

I finally got the xenarc 700Y from cartft.com ....... and in combination with my canon XH-A1 and mayflash, it works! It even says 1920x1080 when I plug it in, so there's no problems there.

Now I need to find a battery solution that fits my needs...

I'm really interested in finding out how this solution is working out for you. Also which mayflash (there seem to be a lot of them on the website)

I bought the mayflash in this place:

The setup is working fine!
