Hi all! Is there any free small program for Windows that a client could use to view clips from my P2 cards that were saved onto a hard drive. The clips are no longer on the P2 cards. I view the clips through FCP but he does not have that program. Please help as he is coming over tomorrow. Thank you so much!

If you have the DVCPROHD quicktimes that you had to make for editing in FCP, then your client can use the Raylight quicktime decoder to view them on a PC. There is a free demo at http://dvfilm.com/raylight/decoder

No drivers required, just Quicktime for Windows :)

sounds good, but how do I get the client the quicktime files? I was trying to just give him the MXf files. Will that program help him view those? Thank you!

No, the P2 viewer is only to view .mxf files that are in CONTENT folders.
When you copy a P2 card it is a good idea to make a NEW folder and then copy the CONTENTS and LASTCLIP.txt into that folder.
Then your client can download and install the P2 viewer.
The drivers are only needed if you are mounting an HVX200 to a computer,
a P2 store to a computer or inserting the cards into a PCIMA slot.
Raylight will let you edit with Vegas or Premiere pro using the .mxf files on a PC.

And Raylight Decoder for Quicktime (new product) will let you view the
Apple DVCPROHD quicktimes on a PC.

You won't achieve full frame rates with Marcus's great add on, particularly with 1080i stuff.

It is almost real time withy 720p, however.

Nice little component.

Hope he can increase the speed.
