Hey folks. I'm coming into an edit late as the second editor on the system, and files are strewn about across at least (but not limited to) 4 different hard drives. I've located all the files in question, but I'd rather not go through and migrate them all one by one and then have to reconnect and rerender the timeline. Lazy I know, but...

I've been researching avid systems and I see that Media Composer has this neat little consolidation feature that allows you to pick a folder and it will copy and organize all files in a sequence to a selected destination. Not exactly a feature that would make me jump ship and move over to the dark side (an open timeline will probably send me off the plank), but I was wondering if anyone knew of a quick and easy way to do this in Final Cut. Otherwise, I guess I'll have to get off my ass and move the files one by one. Jesus, that'll take about as long as writing this post!

Media Manager will do exactly what you want. It will move or copy the project into your selected location.

I've already conked myself on the head with the heel of my palm while saying "doi". Worked like a charm. Thanks a lot.
