Things were working beautifully, until today. Now my XDCAM Transfer software is not reading the proxies and gives me "Failed to convert the proxy at 'C0001.MXF' (-43)". It still shows the in/out, duration and the MXF file number, but there's no thumbnail. I can still import the full size clip but the proxies are not viewable and can't be shortened into subclips for import ... BUT most importantly, I can't import all the proxies, edit the project, then import the full res. What happened? I re-installed FCP and the xfer software, but no avail.

Did you install anything else? I found I was having a conflict with 3IVX version 4.5.1. When I installed it, no proxy thumbnails and import took a looooong time and my processor was pegging out. Removed that software and all was good. Unfortunately, it wasn't until I had re-installed OSX and FCP, then started re-installing third party apps that I found the problem.

Nothing else, and I'm only using FCP Studio, the XDCAM Transfer software and the regular OSX bundle and regular Apple software updates.
