They've not been dropped, nor got wet. They've only had light use. But will they charge up ready for an honest day's work? Will they heck! And this on the back of serious SSE problems: I don't know what Japenese for pi**ed off is...

If any of you good folk out there have a suggestion as to what a man can do with a camera that won't shoot and a set of batteries that won't charge I'd be most grateful.

Does the light on the charger go on?

Not sure if IDX has a fuse, but the fuse on my DV500's battery shorted once, when it was new, easy fix.

do any of the batteries charge?

There might be a fuse on the charger itself that has blown. Where do you live? You are welcome to leave them at mine on my 4 way similataneous charger. Takes about 1 to 2 hours to charge four batts.

Yep, the lights are on, but nobody's home...

Orange power light + red flashing. Haven't seen green in quite a while.

Phil, that's a very kind offer, I could have used that on Sunday, but that's another story.
I'm going to change the fuse tomorrow, but if the fuse was blown should the LED lights still come on?

not the plug fuse...a fuse in the charger itself, not sure where though. its the only thing i can think of

the red light should be steady red whilst charging. if it's flashing, there's something wrong with the battery circuitry. if it's a new battery, I'd caqll IDX or your dealer.have you tried cleaning the battery contacts?

Good news. I lifted out the fuse box and there was a spare fuse sitting alongside the dead one. Bingo. Faith restored.

Thanks for your help guys. Now all I've got to do is sort out the SSE...
