View Full Version : FCP Curve Control?

Hi guys,

I've kind of reached my limit with FCP 5 in terms of color correction control. I need some way of controlling curves, just like Vegas has, or even some Shake nodes (Hue Curves, for instance), but without having to leave FCP itself (and I KNOW there's a "send to shake" option).

I've tried Color Finesse but that's not exactly what I'm looking for, since it's a nice all-in-one cc pack but it has no curve control (just curve visualization)...

Any way of creating (via a plug-in or however) your own curves and editing them directly?

Thanks!

have you tried Colorista? or even the much more basic curves option with some free plugins like the Stib's plugins set?

Good question, Dani. I've also gotten pretty fed up with the whole circular thing going on (don't know the exact term for it) I loved the color correct lines design for Premiere. FCP just ain't cuttin' it.

Hi Dani, I'm not sure what you mean here; Color Finesse actually does have control of curves (master, red, green, blue). I use it all the time specifically for controlling curves.

Hi guys, thanks for the replies.

Regarding Colorista, I haven't seen any curve control options...

Maybe CFinesse does let you use curves to manipulate rgb&master, but I mean a whole curve layout for every setting, or mostly every setting. Just like in Vegas, where you decide how every curve should look, also regarding brightness, contrast, etc etc, not just in RGB. In other words, something between Vegas and Adobe Lightroom...

Any clues?

Thanks!
