In my newly arrived V1E, is no Memory-Stick, only the empty slot?

As Memory-Sticks are new to me, what model and size would you recommend?

In the manual it says, use only MS-Duo or MS-Duo-PRO and without Magic Gate, nothing about the size.

2 x 2 GB or 1 x 4 GB ??

Sony or SanDisk ?

The memory stick doesn't need to be huge since the V1 isn't taking 8 megapixel stills. A one-gig card for me holds hundreds of pictures at fine detail. Either brand should be fine. Get whatever name brand is on sale.

I just found the information in the Manual
1 Still in HDV1440x810 is about 600KB
So if my arithmetic is right, it's more then 1000 Still’s on a 1 GB-Stick

Every memory stick I looked at has Magic Gate. Is this software that can be deleted off the stick?

Magic Gate is a copyright protection technology, so I don't think it can be deleted off the stick.
