Here is a reel of my first month and a half with the HVX.

Please forgive the music, I am not a composer.

Phillip,

I really enjoyed your demo reel. Editing and music choice was great. The slow-mo at the beach and birds was impressive. I've been saving up my pennys for an HVX200 for a while now. Your work inspires me to keep on track.

Thanks guys,
This camera has been a great addition for me. Learning it is an ongoing proccess. I have been both impressed and intimidated by it.

The music is a couple of loops that i put together in soundtrack, without mixing monitors, hence my apprehensions about it.

Thanks for taking a look.

I was very impressed by One Scene in your Demo Reel.

Please realize, though, that at the moment I have a toothache, my cat just died, and it's so cold outside I'm thinking of setting the house on fire.

Therefore, in that mood:
1. Cut out the Hawaiian doll. Keep great things like the real baby's face.
2. Stop with the 'shuddering' quickie transitions; if you want to put together a slow mo scene, put together a slow mo scene.
3.Is the white balance correct? Sign in truck scene looked too red. Car in snow looked to blue. color didn't look consistent.

I Really Liked the scene at the beach. The man in the army jacket had a wonderful quality to it.

IMHO. Excuse me now; I must find some matches.

Thanks Barry for the feedback... Just a few questions:

for number 1. Just curious as to the reason? don't like the movement? or the doll itself? or do you think it's kind of cheesey? I personally like it, but I would like to know why you don't (other's may think the same as you, making it a bad choice to leave in)

for number 2. I am trying somthing different, I am kind of sick of all these over-dramatic slo-mo shots floating around out there, did you think it was TOO distracting? I gues my goal was to show a lot of what I could do with this camera.

for number 3. Since I was trying to show many different scenarios, I split the reel into warm (first section) and cool (second section) that is the reasoning behind the white balance. knowing my intention for this, is it still a distraction?

Once again thanks for the feedback.
