Anyone tried these things?
View Full Version : Warm Cards - any good? Dom Stevenson February 7th, 2007, 06:58 AM Anyone tried these things? Robert Benjamin February 7th, 2007, 09:29 AM Used them extensively with my DV500U, which was a bit on the cool side. These cards work as advertised... well made... nice case... varying degrees of 'push' on different graded cards. If the effect is what you want/need, go for em... Dom Stevenson February 7th, 2007, 01:17 PM Thanks Robert. I'll give them a go. I shot an interview a while back and the lady turned out blue. fortunately FCP 3 way colour wheels did the trick perfectly, but it woud be good to have a set handy to experiment with. Kevin Randolph February 7th, 2007, 01:52 PM I carry them in my bag and use them all the time. As stated earlier, the varying degrees are great too. I also find that the white card on the back side is useful as well. The only way thing I can think of for improving them would be to ad a focus chart on the white card side. I also find that the pocket sized cards are extremely handy. Bryon Akerman February 15th, 2007, 03:01 PM i looovvvveee mine.... so much so that im thinking of marrying them. NM, i just realized ow stupidly disturbed that sunded. Waldemar Winkler February 15th, 2007, 09:29 PM Rarely end up using warm card white balances. I own Canon cameras, which are natively on the warm side to start. Still, I never go anywhere without warm cards, and always use them for testing. There is always the shooting situation where they are worth their weight in gold. |
