i have just yeterday received my new fx-7e back the first was returned as i was far from happy with its colour rendition being from a three chip cam[far too red]this one seems better but i have only given it a quick test including a low light test with my 2100 which i am selling[the 2100 won of course but the fx-7 is better than i expected,i will post the result and a test i plan to do outdoors between the fx-7 and my hc-1 which is a great little cam.all the best chris

Yeah, I've got the VX2000, and although it's better in low-light than my FX7, the FX7 is better than I thought in low-light. I also find the color rendition and sharpness of the FX7 better than the VX2000 when shooting in DV mode.

here is the test with my hc-1 which is much easier to manualy set white balance and keep a setting than my fx-7 .on this test the hc-1 had not been reset for weeks, the next a low light test with the 2100 daylight indoors a dark room and the final one with the 2100 indoors artificial very low light

yow sang i left both cameras on auto gain so i dont know what the gain reading was i think the fx-7 goes to max when on auto setting in very low light ,the artificial test was very dark, too dark for me to have been reading in. chris
