We are going to be doing a shoot for another EFX house with the HVX.
They are editing with Premiere. I have pointed them to the CineForm
Aspect HD software. Does this work well? Any gotchas??
They want to shoot 1080 24p. Does Aspect HD handle the pulldown removal well with 1080 24pA footage? What about footage shot in the 720 pN modes?
Thanks

I suggest you visit Cineform's HVX page. It looks to me like there is a very detailed page that you should become familiar with before starting.

http://www.cineform.com/products/TechNotes/HVX200Support/hvx200.htm

And yes, the software works great.

Thanks Steve,

I looked at that. I am not doing the editing - only the shooting.
I did not want to shoot 720 24pN if ASPECT HD does not support it.
I did not read anywhere if it did or did not support the pN modes.

"Remove duplicate frames: Remove the duplicate frames created in the HVX200 720p modes. The playback rate of the resulting file is either 24p or 25p as appropriate."

This is the only mention I see re 720p modes....
So, does that mean we need to shoot 720 60p for slo-motion,
or can we shoot 720 24pN at 60fps??

I suggest that you pop over to the Cineform forum and ask that question there. The Cineform guys hang out over there. That is beyond my meager knowledge.

Aspect HD (and Connect HD and Prospect HD) supports all the HVX200 P2 modes, and can extract the pulldown if need (not needed for 720pN.)

Thanks David...
That is what I needed to know.
