I'm wondering why now CANON has decided to call it 24p when the XH-a1 and XL-H1 are 24f. I know they are really the same thing. I sure hope that doesn't create conflicts for playback of the big boy camera 24f footage on the HV-20. It shouldn't, but you never know.

I believe the reason is that the single CMOS chip is a progressive chip.

Short answer: you need three chips for Frame mode, and yes, it's already progressive anyway.

And just like the HV10, the HV20 will play back video recorded in Frame mode from one of the big cameras.
