View Full Version : cheaper underwater housings??

Anyone know of any cheaper underwater housings....everything i have found is engineered to withstand pressure of up to 200' for my vx2100. I just need something that i can sit on the surface of water and have peace of mind from it getting wet or splashed on. Are there any heavy duty bags with a lens mount built in. Basically I need it for 1 night and at the video equipment rental place here in new orleans it will cost me 210 dollars per day,and if i can buy something or make something that will work the same but cheaper then i would rather do that.

"On the surface"... Could be you could place it in an aquarium. We've done this before for surface level shots, you can actually get 'under/over' shots quite nicely with this. Just be carefull about how rough the water gets. Adding a rain cover to the mix will give you a little splash protection. Beyond that, you're looking at plastic bags with optiical ports for sollutions.
