Is there noise reduction software for video, analogous to that used for digit stills?

Stu Holmes February 1st, 2007, 02:03 PM Yes there is. For example the Mike Crash plugin for Sony Vegas is reputed to work very wel at reducing noise in HDV video. I know several Sony A1 owners who have said it's great. If you have Vegas, try it out : http://www.mikecrash.com/modules.php?name=Downloads&d_op=viewdownload&cid=13 Name on that page is "Dynamic Noise Reduction". Tony Macasaet February 1st, 2007, 04:13 PM Stu, Thanks for the tip... any suggestions of Final Cut Pro / Mac? Peter Rhalter February 5th, 2007, 06:35 PM For a Mac you can look at Sound Soap from Bias. Waves offers an $800 plug-in called Z-Noise. I've used the noise suppression feature in Amadeus II ($25 from http://www.hairersoft.com) with some success. Haven't personally tried the others. I do enjoy Soundsoap in small quantities though... Peter Rhalter February 5th, 2007, 07:07 PM O.K., then. I have no suggestions.
