Just a quick hello. Wanted to get more info on the HD consumer camcorders. I'm pretty advanced photographer but a complete newbie in videography. Hoping to learn a lot here.

Welcome to the board. I'm down in Rochester. Just love this weather. Think if I took the camera out this week it would just freeze and act like if I dipped it in liquid nitrogen LOL

And it's only gonna get colder. I heard a high of 4 degrees this Friday in the Cities. Yuck. Tough to get used to from a former Phoenix native, even though I've been here for about 8 years.

And since this is an international board, don't forget to mention that these temps are in Fahrenheit!...so the Celcius folks don't think we're talking about above freezing kind of weather ;)

Even better news, Saturday's HIGH is supposed to be -3 F.

Glad to see some Minnesota members here. I currently live in Minneapolis myself, weathering the cold like the rest of you. I shoot on an Canon XH-A1.

Just got myself XL-2 and looking forward making sports video around Osseo/Maple Grove area. Got any XL-2 users in Mpls area? Got to get myself up to speed on this new toy.
