I got into After effects a couple of months ago and it's pretty impressive. There is a very nice shortcut in it : CTRL + [ or ]. When on an event will trim either the beginning ([) or the end (]) to where the cursor is. Is there any such function in Vegas.

I know about trim mode in Vegas but this is not quite like the function in AE.

Kinda sorta! ;-)

For trimming on the timeline I'm a big advocate of using the 7 or 9 key on the number pad depending on which end I want to trim. That'll put a RED [ or ] on the end then I just use the 1 or 3 key to trim. When done either hit the 5 key or just click out of it. You can get very precise trimming that way.

That's the way to do it. Combine it with careful use of ripple edits, and it's a very powerful tool.
