I was recently working on a project in Vegas 7, compositing, adding sound effects, visual effects, etc..., and when I was done, I had about 15 video tracks, and 6 audio tracks. Those were a pain to keep together, if you know what I mean.

My question is this: Is it possible to merge two or more video/audio tracks together? (like merging layers in Photoshop)

Any help would be appreciated.

Yes, more or less. It's called "Render to New Track.
This renders a new track of your two 'layers' but once they're rendered, they're rendered, just like layers in Photoshop, so it's generally a good idea to not throw away the content used to create the render to new.
CTRL+M is the key command, or you can select Render to New Track from the Tools Menu.
Another option is to use nested veg files.

So, do I just select the two (or more) tracks and do a Ctrl+M? And then delete the two or more tracks that were just rendered and add the rendered stuff on top?

The rendered file will create its own new track. You can delete the media that was used to create the new track from the timeline; my practice is to save the veg with the new tracks as a different filename so I can always go back to where I was.
