Lets suppose that you have no DV equipment whatsoever, no books, nothing, and you won a $50K shopping spree in the mail. Your goal is to make movies. What is your plan?

This is a pretty good list, but I'd change the 2 PowerMac G5s to two Mac Pros. Intel is the future. The camera choice is very subjective however, personally I'd go for a Canon XL H1 and XH A1 two camera setup. I'd also add a HV10 to use as a deck. You'd still have money left over from getting rid of the dual HVX and P2 cards. It all depends on what kind of workflow you like.
