Hi,

I'm a film student at LACC. I'm working on a project to make a spec commercial. Looking for a Midwest looking home.

Looking to shoot in the front yard and backyard.

Backyard should be decent size, have some bushes/shrubs.

Also, if there is some steps near the backdoor would be ideal.

Willing to PAY. I'm a student and this is an independent project of mine, so I can't pay studio rates.

If you are interested, reply to post.

thanks

There used to be others, but they all seem to have went out of business.

im trying to get my foot in the door shooting professional sports events in the greater washington, d.c. area. if anyone knows any information that could help me out, such as suggested routes to realize this goal, please let me know. im not interested in just camera work, i can do cable running, audio, PA stuff, etc. I am just trying to find a starting point to work my way up from. Anything with the Redskins, Caps, Nationals, or Wizards would be a dream.

If you are in a position to offer me a gig, then you should know that I do have a lot of PAing experience, but mostly on film sets in LA.

Hey everyone,

I have a Glidecam Smooth shooter and am interested in using it. I can work with low budgets and no budgets. I can use cameras up to 12-15 pounds. I've used it with a HVX and the Red Rock Micro adapter.

The only think I don't have is a wireless follow focus so it's best with DV and HD camcorders.

I'm providing a link to my reel below. I look forward to hearing from you.

But I do appreciate the response anyway.

Hey everyone,

So, right now my writing partner and I are developing a webseries we're planning to shoot in LA in late February and early March. We intend to shoot a six episode season, with each episode between 5 and 8 minutes.

We're pitching it to several companies in town but regardless of their involvement we intend to shoot it either way. So, we're coming to you guys. I own an XL2 but I'd love to shoot on HD, preferably with the Red Rock Micro.

My regular DP lives in NY and thus, is unavailable. We really don't have any money. I know that sounds cliche but it's true.

We're looking for someone with an HD camera, preferably the HVX, who would be interested in teaming up with us. We're not sure how long production would last. Probably a weekend or two.

If you're interested in the idea or being involved email me at josh.caldwell@meydenbauerentertainment.com.

A little about myself. Last year I won an MTV Movie Award for a film I directed called The Beautiful Lie. And last spring I directed a music video series for mtvU and Epic Records called The Ronnie Day Project. Both projects are posted in these forums.

You can view some of my work at: http://www.meydenbauerentertainment.com

You can see the Ronnie Day Project on YouTube here: http://www.youtube.com/profile?user=MyOnlyFriend123

Look forward to hearing from you guys.

Nate Weaver pointed me towards this (http://digitalservicestation.com/). It's basically editorial houses that allow you to use their setups to make the dubs yourself, and they can make a little extra money. Great idea. I ended up going to the house in Culver City (Secret Headquarters) as it was closer to where I needed to be today. Did an hour of Digibeta to ProRes422 transfer for $100. I know at least the Burbank (Alpha Dogs) shop will do increments of 15 minutes for transfer. As long as you know how to use the desired edit software to output or capture, this is a fantastic service and one I will use often. Generally I end up stacking a bunch of spots that I shoot when the client sends me masters until I have enough to justify the dubbing costs, but now I can do them as they come in which is much better for me.

Female DP/Shooter needed in NYC

I'm producing a documentary on a social issue that would benefit greatly if the DP/shooter was a woman.

I'm looking for some experience, perhaps a HD package and the ability to work quickly in fast moving circumstances. I imagine 15+ talking head interviews, acquisition of "b" roll, and shooting interviews with folks who have been thru very trying circumstances in their lives. Some set-ups will be lit, others will be available light grabs. Sound is always an issue. This is a paying gig.

The doc will be produced out of NYC though there is scheduled to be some 1-day travel shoots.

I and my co-producer have had extensive years making media. We expect some media coverage because of the nature of the subject. What I'm saying is, your work will be noticed.

If you are a woman DP/shooter, or know of a woman who fits the above criteria, why don't you drop me a private message and I'll provide more information.

Thanks in advance.

Be well

Rob

Rocket33.tv is an internet only channel launching in 2008 to a predominately male demographic. Think Saturday Night Live meets Mad TV, Jackass meets Wayne’s World, Howard Stern meets Spike TV and you get the idea… but always tastefully done. And with a very high production value.

This is not just another User Generated Content website, everything will be professionally produced and Rocket33.tv will feature content that has substance.

In addition to the 16 shows we currently have in production, we are looking for 8 programs to add to our schedule. We are now accepting pitches for 5-15 minute show ideas. If your treatment is selected, you will be paid to produce a pilot and if approved, another 10 episodes. We will also license your existing material if it fits within our guidelines of programming and quality standards.

Internet TV has a lot of flexibility as there is no regulation currently in place, so anything goes! But the programming must be appealing to a male audience and the concept needs to be developed enough to span multiple episodes.

Programming categories are (but not limited to);

Comedy
Drama
Sports
Reality
Animation
Light Politics/Talk Show
Documentary
Horror
Music
Game Show
Technology

But programming ideas must be kept in perspective so while there is a budget for each series, ideas that require a cast of a thousand, locations in Peru or helicopter shots will be rapidly dismissed. We are in the process of fitting out a 15,000 sq. ft. sound stage four-walled from camera to edit, so if your pitch is approved for production and you are located in the New England area you may have access to the studio.

Otherwise production must be HD/SD/24p/etc. and we need to see your previous work, so send your best reel. Please don’t send material you shot on your friends camcorder and unfortunately we cannot accept submissions without a reel. DO NOT SEND PITCH IDEAS AT THIS TIME. You must accept a disclosure agreement that protects both parties.

Good luck and we look forward to having you on our team!

Or there abouts. We need a woman to shoot a few interviews in Memphis for a documentary we are making. You need to be able to handle the lighting and sound as well. There is a little bit of money, but not much. You will get IMDb credit. We'd prefer someone with an XL2, but are necessarily flexible.

Drop me a line if you're interested. It's a fun project about a fabled Memphis punk band. I'm having trouble finding someone so even if it's been several weeks since I posted this ad, please contact me.

I'm looking for the following personnel:

1. Experienced XL2 lighting cameraman, with or without an XL2. Must be able to advise me on optimal lighting configuration and best shot set-up for shallow dof!!

2. Experienced location sound engineer with full kit.

The project is a sensibly budgeted 10 minute promo for an educational charity and it is the first time I have used a third party crew. The finished piece is to be distributed in the Times Educational Supplement (aprox 100,000 copies) and is being fronted by a minor celebrity (her husband is the major celebrity, a foul mouthed chef, if that gives you a clue!).

Location:Several locations within the M25 (probably only in London). Mostly interior with some exterior. Daytime only.

Dates: TBC but definitely starting end of February.

Duration: Certainly 3 days, probably 4 days, possibly 5 days. Hopefully back to back but that's tbc.

Other: There will be a significant element of shooting around young children so if you are CRB checked that would be a bonus.

Could any interested parties please respond as soon as possible with an indication of your day rate, location, experience etc. If you have an online showreel that would be great, alternatively it can be sent to me at the address shown on my website www.film-it.net.

Any questions or clarification, please either post here or email me at ian@film-it.net

Thanks,

Ian . . .

We are a Texas based company but shoot a lot of wedding out of state. We do a bunch of weddings in NY (Long Island and WestChester area) each year so wanted to see if there were any talented shooters interested in shooting with us.

You will need to have

1) Sony PD170 or similar low light camera.
2) Tripod
3) Video Light with diffuser so not harsh light
4) Monopod

You will need to be dependable, creative and pay attention to details.
Be willing to learn and adapt to new style of shooting.
If you have glidecam experience it will be a plus.

You should have previous wedding or shooting experience and
I will also need to see some sample videos that you have shot.

Please email me if you are interested

We will be shooting a documentary in Southern Turkey this summer. Anyone on the forum have experience in that region? We're not looking for a shooter but could sure use a tip on a Driver/Guide to shoot around Sanliurfa, Nemrut Dagh and possibly Lake Van.

Andrew Dickerman

I traveled through Turkey for a month about 12 years ago and was in the three places you mention.
My hotel room was raided by plainclothes police who pounded on my door at midnight but they were very courteous despite six men pointing guns at me.
The war against the Kurds was in full swing then, with battle tanks along the roads and armored cars and troops in the streets. There were almost no tourists in the southeast so I suspect the police merely wanted to learn whether I was aiding the rebels.
While much of Istanbul could be mistaken for many large European cities, the East becomes much more religious and Muslim so women are less visible and covered.
A taxi took me to Nemrut Dag late in the day so I could be there as the sun set, but it was a bit difficult climbing back down in the dark.
Sanliurfa is exotic, near the Syrian border, but the city of Van, a few miles from Iran and Iraq, is just a plain but undistinguished city.
It’s a beautiful country full of friendly people, though the southeastern part is much poorer, more conservative and less worldly than the western part.

TLF (or its rather large and currently private new partner) expects a huge growth this year in the demand for our services. We are already booked for a couple Summer months. Investors are currently in talks with us as to needs for a really big launch this year and large budget promotions for 2009. With this foresight in mind, we want to be able to meet the demand head-on. One example - we are filming segments of the Super Bowl Experience this weekend in conjunction with Fox.

If you live in Arizona and want to join the pool of contacts we will likely need, please sign up in this thread (or email me direct) and link a reel or portfolio. We will need shooters, editors, and composers. All gigs will be "for pay".

Hey everyone,

I'm going to be shooting a pilot for my web series in the next couple weeks and I'm looking for someone in Los Angeles who'd be willing to let us rent or borrow an HVX-200 for a weekend (Saturday to Sunday night). We're trying to do this on the cheap before going around to pitch the show.

Free is best, but anything below the cost of a rental house would be great.

For those who don't know me, last year I won an MTV Movie Award and recently directed a couple music videos for Epic Records and mtvU. But, we don't have any funds at this time, we're just trying to get materials together for a pitch, and would prefer to shoot HD rather than SD.

I look forward to hearing from you. Please direct emails to:

josh.caldwell@meydenbauerentertainment.com

Thanks,
Josh
