Michael Pulcinella February 1st, 2008, 11:34 AM Mike Pulcinella Video Productions is looking for several experienced video shooters to help with a two day national strongman contest in San Francisco on June 21st and 22nd, 2008.
I’m bidding on the job and would like to know what you would charge to shoot a 2-3 hour event on the first day and a 4-5 hour event on the second day. I do not yet know the exact locations of the events (it'll probably be more than one).
We want this to be broadcast quality so please, only experienced shooters need apply.
Please respond to me here or email me at...

Thanks,
Mike

Michael Pulcinella February 1st, 2008, 02:51 PM Sorry for the re-post but I was given some bad information. This is a correction to my previous post about a strongman contest.

Vishal Gurung February 2nd, 2008, 06:32 PM Hi all
Am editing a wedding i shot in Hawaii and yes, i admit, i didn't get any sunset footage *dolt head*..
was wondering if anyone from hawaii or has any HD stock footy of a sunset in hawaii or on somewhere beachy (that a word?)
If you want i'd be able to trade footage with ya or maybe it's a gesture of goodwill :D karma and all that..
1080i .. maybe 10 seconds or so.. lemme know :) I shot the wedding with a FX1
Thanks!
Vish
Warren Kawamoto February 2nd, 2008, 10:18 PM Which beach did you shoot the wedding? I may have the same beach on file, complete with a sunset.
Vishal Gurung February 3rd, 2008, 02:07 AM Which beach did you shoot the wedding? I may have the same beach on file, complete with a sunset.
Wedding took place @ the sheraton waikiki if that helps :D
I'm not too picky about the beach tho as the clip will be used as a transition between the ceremony and reception .. that'd be awesome tho if you had clips :)
Vish
Bill Spearman February 3rd, 2008, 04:03 PM I am still SD, not HD (GL 2), but as a last resort, I live in Florida & could easily get some sunset footage for you if needed. No palm trees on the beaches here tho, unlike Hawaii. Let me know if you run out of HD alternatives.
Vishal Gurung February 3rd, 2008, 04:12 PM Thanks Bill!, i'm still hoping to get a HD clip but i definitely appreciate your offer!
Greg Patch February 4th, 2008, 09:06 AM I have a sunset that I shot in October at the Wiakaloa Marriot on the Big Island. I used a Z1U shot in HDV..Email me for details...
Salil Sundresh February 4th, 2008, 06:02 PM Looking for a composer that can score the short film “Modern Ethics”. It's a 5 minute short cheesy action/chase film. You can download a rough cut of the film here (link expire 2/10/08) :
http://senduit.com/98fc38
Composer must be available Feb 4-11, 2008. I want to receive a few sample scores during this week for the film before doing an entire rough score so we are on the same page as far as tone goes. From there a couple rough scores and I will give you feedback until we have a complete score by Monday, February 11. Please e-mail if interested at salil@salsunproductions.com with subject "COMPOSER FEB 08" This is a student production, therefore the only compensation I can offer is credit + a high quality internet download of the movie.
PS: If you include a sample score when you apply I may be more attracted to work with you. (not required) Also having an AIM screen name I could communicate on with you this weekend is a big plus.

Warren Kawamoto February 6th, 2008, 11:28 AM Oops!
I forgot I had written to you about stock footage until right now! I had a sunrise at the front of Sheraton Waikiki as well as some generic sunsets, waves lapping on the shore, etc. All shot in HD with a Z1. Looks like you already got the shot you needed, but let me know if you still need more. So sorry for this late post....
Bruce S. Yarock February 8th, 2008, 04:48 AM I recently worked on a destination tour and need some addl. footage. Touristy stuff, broll, etc. If anyone has any footage (or is based in these places) I'd like to hear from you.

Mark Bournes February 8th, 2008, 08:53 AM Day late and a dollar short, I was just in the keys 2 weeks ago.
Could have gotten it for you then, oh well.
Sean Mewshaw February 8th, 2008, 07:31 PM Hey there Bruce,
I have spent many a Christmas visiting my folks in Key West, and a few years back I shot a couple hours of footage around the island testing out my XL1... So yes, footage I do have. Not a lot on Duval Street, but more B-roll, "pretty picture" stuff along the coast and in the streets of old town. I'm reachable at sforza7 (a) "Gee"mail (.) com
Best,
Sean
Michael Calla February 9th, 2008, 01:14 PM I'm heading there next week to shoot a doc in the Bafa Lake area, Herakliea specifically. Have you been there? i have no idea what to expect politically or culturally... although thats what makes it fun right?
Andrew Dickerman February 9th, 2008, 03:04 PM Bodrum and Kusadasi (nearby) are sizable tourist cities on the coast drawing hordes of visitors in warmer weather, with an anything-goes atmosphere. Just offshore are lots of Greek islands. In the vicinity are many archeological attractions with Ephesus being a world-class site. It should be safe, politically open and accommodating.
David Chia February 9th, 2008, 03:18 PM Hi Guys,
I need to know where is a good place that I can rent in N.Y.C from the 1st of May till the 6th of May for one person. My wife had volunteered herself for the Tribeca Film Fest . And I'm trying to look for a whole room to rent for her during this period . N.Y.C
Can anyone give me some pointers where to look for ? like which local website or newspaper.

Thank you very much in advance.
Brian Boyko February 12th, 2008, 07:21 PM Anyone know where I can get in touch with the Austin Wolfpack group?
Ocean Zen February 13th, 2008, 12:51 PM Does anyone know of a good free resource where I can find an actor or they can find me.

Jonathan Bufkin February 14th, 2008, 08:47 AM Looking for a stabilizer(handheld or body) and/or dolly for rent this weekend in DFW area? Lemme know if you have one you wouldn't mind renting out.
Ocean Zen February 14th, 2008, 06:57 PM My email is oceanzen at gmail dot com
Paul Mailath February 15th, 2008, 05:43 AM post a message in the Uni drama dept or look for an acting school and leave a message there - you should get stacks of people interested.
Or you can look up the name of a local agent and give them the details and they'll let their people know.
Just be upfront about the pay or 'no pay', feed them well and make sure they get some footage for their showreel
Salil Sundresh February 15th, 2008, 07:40 PM Unfortunately our composer fell through a few weeks ago and we are looking for a replacement to score this short film THIS WEEKEND. AIM will communication will be very helpful. (or at worst MSN)
The link provided above to the rough cut has expired, you may now download the rough cut here (won't expire this time) :

Joshua Fulton February 17th, 2008, 09:47 PM Hey guys, I've wanted to shoot something on my own in NYC, but I'm not getting the results I wanted with my audio equipment.
It'd be on Sunday, Feb. 24th from 4 - 8. It's a comedy sketch in one location. It should be pretty fun.
You should have a good camera, ideally HD, and good audio equipment, that's essential.
I'd be looking to pay around $100 for this. I can be a bit flexible, but let me know if this works for you. The guy who I'm doing this with and I both write a bunch of comedy sketches, so it could possibly lead somewhere else too.
Also, there's the possibility of me not needing anyone if I can get my audio equipment working. I just wanted to post and see if anyone out there would be interested in helping out, so I'm not potentially left high and dry. Thanks a lot.
Josh

Charles Papert February 20th, 2008, 10:58 PM Yeah, there's one or two people that fit that description in LA...!
Peter Newsom February 22nd, 2008, 04:42 PM Hi Guys,
I have a client who needs a couple of sit down interviews(basic lighting, one mic) shot in Paris, France and Huizen, Holland. The shoots would be very straight forward, and only take a couple of hours.
So far the quotes he has received have been in the 2000 euro range, which seems very high, but what do I know.
Wouldn't have to be XDCam HD, but it would be great if it was.
The client is a long time customer of mine, knowledgeable and great to work for.
Any help appreciated.
Peter
Paul Gale February 23rd, 2008, 06:28 AM So there are two shoots right? Seems about right if I was pricing for a similar UK shoot - especially if you're taking travel and travel time into account as paris to Huizen is approx 300 miles or so.
In my experience, UK cameraperson rates are around the £500-600 (660-800 euros) per day for good people plus travel, disc stock and other expenses.
Of course, that's UK rates - don't know if French/Dutch rates are wildly different or not...
Neil Ambrose February 25th, 2008, 03:03 PM Yep about 600-800 euro for camera op, camera and stock is pretty standard in Europe from my experience. One thing which is worth doing is checking the type of crew you are getting. You often get ENG crews who are a bit ropey at lighting complex interview situations. Neil
Bob Magill February 25th, 2008, 11:33 PM I have several hours of Key West footage. Fantasy fest, Duval st, Cemetary,
Power boat races, Scuba diving, Boating, etc.
Scuba diving footage in Cozumel.
All footage shot 2007 with HC7 or V1U.
Regards,
Bob

Salil Sundresh March 9th, 2008, 02:43 PM Looking for actors or voice over talent for dubbing over a short (3 mins approx) film clip for a student assignment. Talent must have their own equipment for recording and be able to send me the audio file when done. I will need all clips by Friday, March 15th. (we'll get you the script March 13th or 14th) Please note that since this is a school assignment, you will not have to precisely try to match the actor's lips in the picture, what's important is that the voice sounds believable. The only compensation we can offer is credit + an internet download of the clip as compensation.

Philip Gioja March 10th, 2008, 02:27 PM I'm overbooked on August 9th and need a dependable camera person. This is a referral job so it's important to me.
Pay would be $400 to the right person, job is 4:00P-11:30P in Aurora, IL at the Stonebridge Country Club. Must supply your own equipment (all my gear will be at other shoots that day).
Please let me know as soon as you can if you are interested.
Dana Salsbury March 11th, 2008, 11:16 PM My client is marrying in Salt Lake (Indian "henna" wedding and all that) and having the reception in Phoenix. We are filming the reception and editing the whole thing. I’m looking for a shooter for 3.5 hours on the 20th of June and 3.5 hours on the 21st. Do you have those dates available, and what would you charge to shoot the ceremonies and send me the HDV tapes?
Thanks,

Salil Sundresh March 12th, 2008, 01:09 AM Looking for voicer over talent for an overly dramatic documentary trailer. We're looking for someone who can come close to that really low voice you often hear in movie trailers aka "the voice of god" performed by Don LaFontaine. For more information and to hear his voice, please check out this video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7QPMvj_xejg
You will need to be available for about 1-2 weeks, I must have a final recording from you at the very latest Saturday, March 22nd. You must have your own recording equipment and be able to e-mail me the audio file. This is only a 1-1.5 minute trailer, so nothing extensive. Providing online samples of previous work is a big plus.
Compensation: This is a student production, therefore the only compensation I can offer is a high quality internet download of the trailer and credit.
Please contact us via e-mail at salil@salsunproductions.com
Make sure the subject is "VO of GOD - Trailer"
Andrew J Morin March 12th, 2008, 01:59 PM Are you limiting your search to folks in the northwest? I'm in chicago, and I've only done a few part-time gigs trying to build a portfolio. I had my little infant reel on stage6, but since that was canned, this would give me some motivation to get my demos back up.
Marc Burleigh March 12th, 2008, 03:24 PM Craigslist is pretty good. Not as overflowing with talent as in the States, but there are more and more people looking on it in Europe. Try that.
Danny Natovich March 12th, 2008, 03:53 PM We need shooters with their cameras to work with us at the show helping demonstrate the rigs.
