Dawn Brennan October 20th, 2008, 08:22 AM Funny that, as a wedding videographer, I come here looking for one, but none the less, I am.
We are looking for a full-service videography company to cover a vow renewal in Cancun taking place on February 21, 2009. 5 years ago, we didn't do a wedding video (I know, I know!) and I want to make sure we do this right. Please email me if interested. I would prefer some one local to Cancun, but for the right talent, we may be able to negotiate travel expenses for a couple days!
This is going to be a very private event, just "bride and groom", but I am looking for a more "involved" video... possibly getting into a "trash-the-dress" style shoot. Make sense? Interested? Shoot me an email!
Michael Stern October 20th, 2008, 10:21 AM I run a small production company here in ny. I specialize in mostly music videos. I will let you know of any upcoming shoots and maybe we could work together. Please email your information. I am located in queens.

Ian Stark October 22nd, 2008, 01:55 PM Hi,
Anyone got any knowledge of a reasonable lighting hire firm in or near Rockville, MD. I am shooting a corporate promo for a UK customer with offices in Rockville and will need a very basic three point kit (or a couple of fluorescent banks) for a single day. I'm also possibly interested in hiring a tripod, minimum guideline Manfrotto 525/501, to save having to bring mine over.
Alternatively (and ideally), any brave shooters in the area willing to lend their own gear for a day to a fat, middle aged Brit for a sensible price (plus an evening's worth of beer?!). Looking at mid November-ish.
Any suggestions?
Thanks!
Ian . . .
Ben Winter October 23rd, 2008, 02:13 PM Depends on your needs and budget. Many people suggest the Sennheiser G2 as entry-level. Avoid Sony's. If you want the Cadillac of wireless lavs, go Lectrosonics. B&H Photo to buy, definitely. Check the sponsors links, I'm sure some of them rent too...
Philip Gioja October 23rd, 2008, 03:11 PM I work part-time for a rental place online that'll ship Sennheiser G2's nationwide in the US: Video Microphones (http://www.atsrentals.com/cat--Video-Microphones--105.html) You might have a bad cable if you have a decent microphone.
Ron Williams October 23rd, 2008, 06:01 PM I am looking to help out anyone in the NY/NJ/PA area who would need assistance on their film project. I am willing to do this to get some hands on experience in this craft. I do own some of my own eqpt [sony ex1 and glidecam 4000 for now] but if anyone is interested let me know. i am available on weekends. also certified on FCP editing , using photoshop , lightroom and digital photography. camera equipt own is nikon D3 , D300 and D200

Warren Kawamoto October 24th, 2008, 10:33 PM Why avoid Sony? I've been reading that Sony's new UTX-B2 is rock solidly built of metal, and outperforms the Sennheiser G2. Cost for a set is under $500. The older Sony UTX-B1 though, was a plastic toy.
Nicholas de Kock October 25th, 2008, 07:19 AM I use Sony on all my jobs and it's has never let me down. The Sennheiser and Sony is on equal playgrounds the one is as good as the other there really should be no Sony vs Sennheiser debate. Most people that say Sennheiser is the best has never tried anything else and only say that cause the sales rep they buy from has never used another brand.
Erez Henya October 25th, 2008, 07:53 AM Hello!
My name is Erez Henya and I am an ambitious film composer collaborating with great filmmakers internationally. I love doing what I do and I give all my heart to it with a bold passion.
I also give a great importance to the pleasure of collaborating. There's nothing like working with new friends, not just filmmakers, that you feel open with. Great ideas come from both sides pretty easily this way, and the communication (a key component in any film production) is clear, many times also predictable.
I am ready for new challenges, and I would love to see you on my humble website (http://www.erezhenya.com/) and hear what you, personally, have to say about my music, and how you think I can execute your artistic vision to this great upcoming feature film of yours!
So there you go, my friend, please feel welcome to contact me at erez@erezhenya.com or through a PM here when you feel ready!
Charles Papert October 25th, 2008, 05:34 PM I'm shooting a two-episode science fiction pilot called "The Nebula" next week and we are looking for someone to generate some material that can run on monitors in the spaceship set--diagrams, text screens, general futuristic looking displays. We will also be projecting this material onto the actor's faces who are working at those displays as a lighting gag. We will also have need in post-production for view out the windows of the craft to be generated (starfields etc) as we have a large green screen window on set.
We shoot next weekend, so time is short but I have the sense that there are quite a few people out there who might like doing this sort of thing or have already done it for one of their projects.! The set is pretty wild--it was built for "Firefly". Cast members include Seth Green, Tracey Thoms (Cold Case, Grindhouse) and Ahmed Best (Jar Jar Binks). Ahmed is directing, he has self-funded the project and thus there is very little money involved but it should be a blast, it's a funny script, sort of a parody on Star Trek.
If you are interested and have any grabs of your work to show, please send to me at nebula@charlespapert.com.

Thato Dadson November 10th, 2008, 12:37 PM Hi my name is Thato and I have finished filming my short film called Prime Justice. It is an action short. I am in need to help with cg blood shots. For example one character gets shot from behind through his shoulder. So i would need blood to fly out and look realistic.
I also have a 3d bullet sequence i need done. Now the thing about that is i can do the Andrew Kramer way but i would rather have a cool custom effect for example we see the bullet load into the chamber right before he fires and then it flies out.
I am a student so i really don't have money to pay, but if your looking for work to add to your reel this will be great for you.
For those who need compensation I offer Graphics work, Royalty Video Footage, Etc. Just let me know.
For those interested Please contact me at TPvideo@gmail.com for more information.
And also i know this sounds like alot of work so if you only have time to do one VFX Shot thats fine by me.

Dufu Syte November 12th, 2008, 02:09 PM A number of wildlife shows currently airing entail close encounters with wildlife in the wild, including presumable danger to life and limb of the host. Could you clarify whether your series host will be expected to face wildlife in the wild, with its attendant perils, or is this a tamer production.
On a scale of 1 to 10, how would you rate your Host Endangerment:
1: Planet Earth style, host is entirely studio, no wildlife contact for host
2:
3:
4:
5: Zoo Show: contact with captive animals consonant with a zoo keeper
6:
7:
8:
9:
10: Dangerman daredevil confrontation of host and beast in the wild

Ben Lynn November 13th, 2008, 08:55 PM Greetings all.
I'm producing a local television show in central Illinois about a motorcycle/atv riding facility. One of the segments of the show talks about the facilities environmental and wildlife awareness. Basically, they understand that the land needs a balance for both the people and the animals.
On their property they have deer and various native birds, one of them being quail. It would be great to have a few shots of those animals. The problem is that in the production process we didn't have an opportunity to go out and shoot the wildlife. And at this point the leaves are off the trees and the weather is bad, so there's no way we'll be getting any footage of these animals ourselves.
If you have any HD (any format- 1080i or 720p) footage of deer or quail in a mid-western wooded area during summer or fall, I'd be interested in taking a look.
The pay is $30 per twenty second clip, and of course you'll get a credit at the end of the show.
I need to see all clips prior to any ok so please email me with links. Ideally I would like four of the deer shots and two quail shots, but other birds would be fine if their native to the mid-west. All shots must be from a tripod. Handheld footage won't be considered.
Thanks.

James Fazzaro November 19th, 2008, 02:01 PM Hi. I would be interested in helping out when available. I have the XH A1 with a wide angle lens adaptor, no 35mm lens add-ons. I've shot a couple of weddings and lots of short films, I would bring a cinematic eye to your productions. Based in Somerville, about 1/2 hour from Princeton when Rt 206 doesn't suck.
Thanks,
JF
Ethan Cooper November 19th, 2008, 03:49 PM My wife is shooting fewer and fewer weddings with me these days so I'm in need of a second shooter in South Louisiana. Second shooters for me are the documentary style shooter so it's not terrbily challenging work. I will provide all the gear, and cover your gas expenses on top of what I'm paying for your services. I just need you to show up, point a camera in the right direction and turn it on.
We're located in Houma, but shoot most of our weddings in New Orleans, Baton Rouge, and Lafayette.

Timothy David Orme November 21st, 2008, 09:23 AM Hello all,
I'm looking for someone to help animate parts of a film I'm currently working on. It's a very short film (less than two minutes), and a combination of live action and animation.
I'm not looking for very elaborate animation, just some very simple drawings, and if you are interested or know anyone that's interested, I have do have the live action portion of the film already cut together.
Thanks,
T.
Alex Mizin November 21st, 2008, 09:08 PM Good afternoon,
We have are nearing completion of a short film in Melbourne Australia. In it's rough form it has been screened already and we've been highly encouraged into submitting into festivals. The only snag so far is that we've been unable to secure some of the rights for the music we've used, hence we need a composer who would be able to provide us with a score.
The film is a sinister comedy of 10-12 minutes, with the score needed for about 7 of those minutes. Please contact me if this sounds of any interest to you.
Thanks,
Alex

Oh, the joy of private property! :)

Dan Brockett December 5th, 2008, 02:26 PM Hi:
Need design/AE wizard to generate two title cards, lower thirds and interview backgrounds for DVD project for popular animated show. Project is low budget but does pay. Opportunity for a lot of creativity, design will be fairly simple so seeking someone we can give a lot of basic animation elements to, some requirements about the number of elements we need and then you can decide how to best make the elements work together. Other than fonts, this project will use only provided pre-existing animation/still elements.
Project starts immediately and finished elements will be due before Christmas.
Please e-mail resume and link to on-line demo to blfilms@mac.com
Thanks,
Dan Brockett

Eric Stemen December 7th, 2008, 01:20 PM You're good! I thought the music went pretty well with the video. I liked that it changed to a dark music when the girl shut her book.
Did you use a program to make the music?
