How do you guys carry around your adapters and cameras? Do you carry it in one peace all the time, or in two peace and connect then each time you are filming?

Always pre-assembled before I get to the location in a clean environment using compressed air-cans to clean between the relay lens and 35mm adapter and camera.

i went to local photo store and they didn't have big enaugh cases for HVX+M2. I thought about building one out of aluminum or something. Has anybody done this before, any pictures?

Anzei, I would give Amabilia HPRC 2550CW (http://www.hprc.it/2550w.htm) a try. Those wheeled cases are available to you locally and are airplane carry-on legal if that matters.

Cheers,
T

This looks like a thread that is long dead, but I still wanted to let you know you can begin your search for HPRC cases at the following address:

www.hprc-usa.com

Check them out...

I think you may find normal best practice with a detachable lens type camera and its own lens, is to dismount the lens from the camera, cap it and the camera and transport separated.

I would be inclined to follow the same practice with adaptors, especially with lens-in-camera types as these are not designed to have unsupported outboard mass hanging off the front.
