I don't know if you've seen it, but sometimes you'll see someone turn a book page that has a video playing on it.

I'm not sure if this is possible with Vegas. I was trying to do a still and got it pretty close using adobe photoshop, but I have an idea for a book page turn with video playing.

Any ideas?

Hi Steven, i think what you're looking for is in the transitions, there you'll find "Pages Roll" unless i did'nt understand your question this should be it...

Hmm, sorry about my confusion.

You see this type of thing in 'fairy tale' type movies. You are looking at a big book, and there is a video on the page which is in motion or playing. Then someone will turn the page of the book and the video will go with it.

I can create the video of someone turning a page just by shooting it, in fact I have that part. I want to almost PIP a video on the page, bending the video to match the curviture of the book's page.

Thanks for the input.

Yes, Vegas can absolutely do this using 3D Track Motion. I have a project on the VASST web site called 3D Book Turn (http://www.vasst.com/resource.aspx?id=5185b51a-4a39-471a-9a2b-1d98c28b358c) that already does this. Just substitute your media. I also have a tutorial on my web site called 3D Track Motion Pivot (http://www.johnrofrano.com/tutorials/3dpivot.htm) that gives you the basics behind this technique.

One part i am not sure of is if vegas can bend the video to match the bent page (no page turns like a stiff board, they flex a bit) but it is probably prety close. You could probably add in some page roll transition to the video WHILE you keyframe the motion of that track so that the page roll transition bends the video slightly (don't complete the page roll, just start it and freeze it when it looks right) and then match its motion to your source footage of a book turning.
