They went from having an embarrassing Blu-Ray player to having the best Blu-Ray player and I bet its better than Toshiba’s HD-XA2 HD-DVD player.

Now if only they release this thing early.

Why do you think it's better than the HD-XA2 ?

That article added upcoming Sony Blu-Ray Players.
“Update Sony also said it was readying two second-gen BD players, codenamed 'Sapphire 1' and 'Sapphire 2', but it did not disclose details of their specifications.”

Harrison Murchison,
Mainly because it’s a lot newer and I think Samsung worked overtime to make sure this player more than makes up for the faulty Blu-Ray player that they released earlier. Still, Even if it’s very similar, Sony’s yet to be released players will surely be better than all of them.

Should be a good comparison. Both use Silicon Optix chipsets. Most likely the Reon VX. I don't think the Sammy has analog outputs though. I think quality should be damn close with the XA2 winning out for installations that need RS232 and analog outputs.

Looking forward to seeing the reviews and glad that Ethernet is now on the Sammy.
