Hi,

I just filmed a wedding in HDv on 3 seperate tapes, when I went to capture the tapes all was going well and then it stopped and said that "Harddrive is full"

I have been using an external harddrive fas my scratch disk and have about 250GBs left on it.

Is there somewhere else on my computer is storing stuff where I sould clean up?

I havenīt really filled up my computer with music and movies, just the applicatios that I use for editing.

Any help would be appreciated,

Thanks

Open your Final Cut folder in Applications and there should be a bunch of folders like Render Files, Scratch Disk, and Capture Files. That's where you can do a lot of clean up. You can also look in your Preferences within FCE and see where all your capture files are assigned to.

By any chance are you running an anti-virus program like Virex or Norton? if so, there is a known issue which can cause the problem you describe. FCE can freeze during capture, and the virus program creates a file with a .av extension which appears to take up all the free space on your drive. The fix is to stop using the anti-virus software (or disable while running FCP), then locate any files in your capture folder with the .av extension and remove them.

There used to be a technote about this at apple.com, but I can't find it anymore.
