so i can do a straight dub without a computer, from an old dv tape to an xdcam disc. Can't seem to get it to work. Is there a setting somewhere for this?

Perhaps accesible from the menus? If not what is the reasoning behind it. More so for the DSR series using them as a portable deck in the field for laptop editing... The US version doesn't record through firewire either and that is a bit of a disappointment over the standard def XDCAM cameras who can. Thierry.
