I have some footage shot from 3 angles. I would like to do a picture-in-picture type effect with one angle providing the main view and either one or both other views as insets on top of the main view. I don't care to move the inset frame around on the screen.

Stack the two clips, one atop the other in a sequence.

Set your viewer to show "image and wireframe". Click once on the clip that you want to inset. Grab a corner of the wireframe and reduce it down to the size you want, then drag it into position.

If you need to do this to multiple clips, you can adjust the size & center of the insets in the motion tab of the canvas, so that they all are the same size & in the same place.

You also may need to crop them just a little as the image may fall off a little at the edges.

You can also use the motion tab to put in a drop shadow.

Thanks for that tip Chris. That will be a useful technique for this project. I've got HDV, DV, and analog Betacam to work with.
