eBay auction items are not allowed here. Read http://www.dvinfo.net/conf/showthread.php?t=5772

Ken, I think Jim was okay with the way he handled it. He gave DVINFO first crack at the goods, then waited before deciding to go to the auction site and as he mentioned, didn't link to or mention the site name.

The only other thing Jim should mention when resorting to auction, is that the items are no longer available here, just as if they had been sold.

Greg, that is exactly what I was trying to say. 8-)
The items are currently on eBay and are still being offered here at the same time.

Hey all,

I have an HV20 that has practically no hours on it, probably under an hour of recording time on its heads. It is essentially brand new. Looking to pool up some money for another laptop for an upcoming production.

I can sell it for $575 for anyone interested. It'll come with all the original accessories as well as the DVD that B&H sells it with (where the camera was bought).

Let me know if interested.

Hey Everyone,
I think it is about that time for us to look at switching formats. The Canon A1 seems like it would fit the bill, and I am putting out feelers to see if anyone has one for sale. I know the Z7 is all the rage now, but I believe the A1 will suit my needs for less htan half the price. Anyone with one for sale please e-mail me at. bill@grantphotovideo.com and thanks.

Dave - thanks for the link but I'm presuming that will be NTSC.

John,

How well does this monitor calibrate?

I am only concerned with the component inputs and getting the colors close to NTSC standard/legal.

Thanks

I am not sure that I can answer that question. I can only say that it is an awesome monitor whether I am using it with my computer or inputting DVI from Satellite reciever.

Hope this helps.

Hi Mat
I thought output into nle such as EDIUS Pro 4 worked irrespective of standard - but I'll still keep an eye out for you.

Whats your budget - so I don't send you info that's irrelevant.
Cheers.

Hey Dave
Canon can do a factory mod to change the XLH1 as I understand but I really do need to work in PAL not fudged in the NLE. Budget wise, willing to look at anything dependent on condition, I just can't afford the new UK price at the mo. Now the new US price is ok but then its NTSC again :-(

Richard Rock
February 22nd, 2008, 08:48 AM
Hmmm...what would the asking price be for the PC?

Vence Vida
February 22nd, 2008, 09:24 AM
Mat,

One thing you may consider: If someone has an NTSC version for sale used, you could strike a deal with them to have the update to PAL added before they ship it to you. Even the extra $500 (which is what it costs including shipping from Canon) will probably be less than a new H1 if the starting price of the used unit is a good deal.

I just sold an H1 to a guy in Belgium and I had it done for him before I shipped it, and he was happy to pay the extra because it was still a much better price than he could get on a new PAL H1. They also turned it around from the service center in New Jersey in less than a week.

No, it's just a firmware upgrade. You then select PAL or NTSC in the menus.

Mat Thompson
February 22nd, 2008, 01:53 PM
Ahh ok, cool ! They certainly know how to charge for a firmware upgrade! But thats could to know and certainly sounds like it worth having it done out in the states before shipping!

Now I just need to find one ! :-)
