Don,
what would you use the 5100 for? is it good for weddings, parties, and seminars?

honestly if I was looking for another SD camera I'd buy it (depending on the hours of course). I think 2k is fair for the camera.

As for use,
I used my 5000 for pretty much everything. I shot weddings, seminars, sports and news with it. The only problem I had was getting it to match up well with my Sonys but that wasn't all that big a deal for me. As much as Iloved my 5000 the 5100 is better. They added a 2nd XLR on the back of the camera, the 5000 only had 1 front and 1 back :-(, and they redid the DSP (firmware) on the 5100 and it produced a nicer image thean the 5000.

I'd say the camera can be used for just about anything.

I just purchased this set but I am in need of the old style NNovia QC A2D decks for a specific project. The unit was sent to NNovia by the previous owner for the once over and upgrades, it came in boxes from Nnovia labeled refurb.

You get

nNovia QuickCapture A2D
MediaPac 80 GB
V-Lock Mount Kit which accepts V-lock type battery
User Manual
AC Adapter
Analog breakout cable

I'm looking for someone who would like to upgrade from the old model to this system, I'll accept any storage size and I have no need for accessories, all I need is the deck, analog breakout cable and AC power supply. Of course the value of the kit I have is higher than the old unit so we would have to nagotiate cash in addition to the old unit. I would also require the old unit to be sent to nnovia for a once over and firmware upgrade, they charge $40 for the firmware upgrade. If you have 2 old decks even better!

Current price for this setup new is over $2000, make me an offer if you have nothing to trade.

I'm located in southern California but will ship world wide. Prefer paypal for payment. Please contact me if you have any questions or are close and want to see the unit.

Thanks,

~PH

I just know its in mint condition and I dont know how to use it :(

Hello Kim,

Why don't you take the time learning to use it? Take the user manual, put the camera on a tripod and connect it to a monitor. Read through the manual step by step and just try things. If you do something wrong, you can always reset the camera to it's factory settings. If you have further questions you always can get help here on the forum.

I never owned one of these camcorders (I did choose for a Sony DSR-300), but I know it's a very good SD camera. Their is not a single consumer camera that can produce pictures equal to your 5100. You say it yourself; the footage looked great. And I bet it even is going to look better when you operate it in full manual mode. If you don't need HD at this moment I wouldn't let it go. But that are of course my thoughts.

Here is how to check the drum hours. It's from the instruction manual.

http://books.jvcservice.com/Download/290144137/LWT0230-001A-H.pdf

1. Set the POWER switch to ON.
2. Press the STATUS button for 1 second or longer to display
the TOP MENU screen.
3. Rotate the SHUTTER dial to select the OTHERS item, and
then press the SHUTTER dial.
● The OTHERS (1/2) menu screen appears.
4. Select the NEXT PAGE item on the OTHERS (2/2) menu
screen, and then press the SHUTTER dial.
● The OTHERS (2/2) menu screen appears.
■The accumulated drum running time is shown next to the
DRUM HOUR item on the OTHERS (2/2) menu screen.
5. To return to the normal screen, use either of the following
methods.
● Press the STATUS button
or
● Return to the TOP MENU screen and then select the EXIT
item from the TOP MENU screen before pressing the
SHUTTER dial.

And here is an 8 minute indroduction movie of the JVC-DY5100.

And some more movies.

Kim, check your email...

With no battery, you're looking at another $1000-$1500 to make this useable. More, if you don't have a tripod plate.

In an earlier post you said it had a 14x lens from a dv500 - is this the same one?

If memory serves correctly the 5100 was not offered with the 14x-started with a Canon 16-the 5000 was offered with the 14.

As for 16:9 image yeah sort of. Not a true 16:9. I wish it did but alas, it didn't.

Depending on the hours 2k ain't a bad price for a 1/2 chip porfessional camera with a 17 lens regardless of tripod plate or batteries. IMO most anyone looking at a camera like that probably already has a tripod plate and power. If not the plate can be had fromm our favorite auction place on the web for a decent price and the power, well depends on what you want. ABs, IDX, Swit-prices can run the gamut.

Just my thoughts.

For sale is a Nikon D1x kit with 2 lenses and original boxes. $900

The Nikon D1x digital body is in good shape, shutter works perfectly had no problems with this camera, operationally perfect. Comes with original Nikon boxes for all accessories including charger, direct plug, body, and batteries.

You will also get a legitimate copy of Nikon Capture software with serial code, for viewing and manipulating RAW photo files.

In this deal you get a special lens, that only about 100 or so were made... its a Tamron 300mm f2.8 LD MF lens... The brass plate on this lens has numbers in which indicates that it was only made in production for one year, and it only came in white in this one year. The lenses are scratch free, comes with lens hood, and original case and leather pouch. (this lens alone is worth almost the whole kits price.) This telephoto lens is great for wildlife and spots.

The second lens you get is the Nikkor 28-80 3.3-5.6 AF zoom, this is great for run and gun shooting, it is optically perfect, it has never had the UV protection filter taken off it, since it was bought. AF fast and snappy. I had the original box for this too, but now i cant seem to find it, If i find it before i ship you will get it.

This whole kit includes...

Nikon D1X body
Body cap
LCD cap
Camera strap
1 super fast 512mb CF card

Neck strap for Tamron lens
Nikkor 28-80 3.3-5.6 Zoom lens 58mm UV filter on lens

PHOTOS are of actual items.
asking $900 for everything together or best offer, please no ridiculously low offers, this is professional gear in good working order. I accept all major credit cards and I have a paypal business account, if you are paying via paypal please understand I have to charge a %3.0 tax on it. I also accept cash, money orders, and checks (checks must clear before item shipped or picked up)

gonna liquidate a few items. Here we go:

Sony HDR-HC1 w/ Sony case, filters, all cables, box, remote control, basically everything
it comes with including Sony shotgun mic, one big M series battery and two small ones.
Camera records fine, has been great. On playback, every now and then i get a condensation error. So, I do the sony smack and it works. I am selling it mainly because
I want an HDD camera to make videos of the kids, i hate tape. Going to ask $500 shipped for this item. I feel it is still a viable camera, and one of Sony's finest first gen HDV cams

Going to sell 6 of my Lexar 8gb SSD cards for EX1. these cards are great! they will only record in SQ mode, but they allow the door to close, and they mount flawlessly on the macbook pros. Asking $25 each shipped, you buy multiple, and flat rate of $10 priority mail shipping CONUS only. I will post pics soon. I will accept google checkout, or paypal, you pay the fees. Personal check also accepted, but must clear before shipping. the camera ships ups or fedex ground. All sales final!

This is a great lens. I bought it with my d200 about a year ago, and rarely use it ( I shoot with a 17-55 2.8, 70-200 2.8 and some primes). I've done some beautifull portraits with the 18-200, and it has a beautifull boquet at zoom. I'll sell it for $525 including shipping in the lower 48.

Hi fellow DV'ers. I'm selling my trusty still cam that has been used to take stills for video projects and a few web projects. It's in mint condition and has all the parts to have you up and running in a flash.

Lightly used Canon DS6041 Digital Rebel still camera up for quick sale. This package includes:

Camera Body (with charger, battery, strap, manual)
Stock 18-35mm lens
Canon EF 28-200mm f/3.5-5.6 USM Standard Zoom Lens
Canon Gear Bag
Magic Lantern camera guide
Several CF cards
Additional battery (a total of two batteries included)
Remote shutter clicker

This kit will have you up and shooting great pics instantly!

The camera has been very lightly and gently used and very well taken care of. I’m in the south bay area (near San Jose) and will sell to a local buyer in person, or will ship within the US.

I’m pricing the whole kit at $500 or best offer. I’d like to sell this before the weekend so the first reasonable offer will not be turned down. I've sold an XL2 video camera, lenses, assorted camera gear, and computer on the boards here all with great customer satisfaction! Let me know if you have any questions.
