recorded some HDV footage. Go to VCR/play position, select "signal setup" and HD down-conv is grayed out. I'm trying to play out via the firewire port to my DV deck/edit sys. Tried powering down then up, no luck.
Anyone have a clue?

The firewire cable has to be DISCONNECTED from the camera in order to select the HD downconvert setting.

yes, disconnecting the firewire cable puts the gray one option, in a selectable state.
In addition I can say that I down-converted a 25F footage (I work with the PAL version), using a DV PAL Anamorphic set up in FCP and it was perfect!

anyone using Premeir Pro 2.0 or After Effects 7.0 have a good workflow to take HDV and downconvert into a 4:3 file for eventual dub to Beta SP for TV submission?
