Sony 10/20 light is .... WOW! kinda bright. Don't know how that's going to go over at the reception. Maybe I need a soft box? Is there a nice cheap one I could use that fits the Sony 10/20 light?

Any suggestions?

Thinking about a SIMA 3 watt'er. What do you think?

The 3 watt on my Canon looks about right. Again, I have no experience yet.

That Sony light is great, Mark. The ability to switch between 10 and 20 watts is very handy, and the fact it uses the same batteries as your camera is a money saver. Using a 730 battery, at 10watts, you can get over ninety minutes of light. That's excellent. You just need to make the light a little less "butch." Go to a good camera/photo store and look at their gadgets. There are some cheap soft boxes that you might rig on the light. I just use a piece of 416 diffusion over the light to soften the light when I am moving in close to my subjects. Don't forget to pay attention to your exposure when using the on-camera light.

A few pieces of frosty Scotch tape should help.

Or get a few pieces of diffusion material and make a couple of sleeves of it. Then you can slid it down over the light and hold it on with a clip or rubber band.

Or sand the lens with some fine grit paper. Make it very diffuse.
