I'm looking for a carrying case for an external Lacie 250 gb drive.

Its the really compact drive, with "design by F-A-Porsche."

Heres the one...http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16822154043&ATT=22-154-043&CMP=OTC-pr1c3grabb3r

Thanks for any help!

I bet one of the small Pelican hard cases would work well. You can get it from Pelican with antistatic cube foam, so it would be completely protected. Sorry, cant post links to non-sponsors though. Just do a google search, you'll find the site :-)

My personal favorites are Pelican, Lowepro & Crumpler.

Then there's Caselogic, Portabrace, Kata Bags. You might want to check B& Photo and Video and see if they have any bags or cases you like. That's what I usually do anyway.

Get something that doesn't scream "EXPENSIVE STEALABLE EQUIPMENT INSIDE" like an expensive, high-end camera case.

I went to Target and got a rolling hardshell suitcase (flight approved) for $60.
Carries my camcorder in a light backpack (that also help shock protect it), monopod, tapes, rewinder, charger, cables and external drive.

Looks like any other bag of clothes, has and extendable handle and rolls on wheels....

I have several of those drives; they're really small. Are you just looking for something to carry around (as opposed to shipping)? A couple years ago I got a Case Logic soft case at Best Buy which was designed to hold a portable DVD player. It was really cheap, less than $20, but is nicely padded and has several compartments which are handy for cables and power bricks. I have carried around two hard drives in it which were larger than the LaCie's. In fact, I packed my hard drives in it and put them in my suitcase when I went to South America and it did a great job.

I'd suggest visiting one of your local "big box stores" and look through the cases in the camera dept, video game dept, and computer dept. I'm sure you will find something cheap to meet your needs. Of course we always suggest using one of our sponsors, but this is one time that I think it helps a lot to be able to see and hold the case in person.
