GIOTTOS BL1150 PROF Fluid Claw Ball Head Video Tripod
Does anyone use these sticks? If so how smooth is the tilt and the pan on the head? I've never heard of this brand, they are sold by a local shop in Philly.
Thanks for any info.

So I'm guessing no one has heard of this brand?

So, if their sold by a local store, throw your fav cam on top and let us know how it feels.

I've got a Giottos QR plate I bought from B&H. Good workmanship, good product, blatent copy of a Manfrotto QR plate, but alas, a good copy. No clue about how their tripods are.
I'd second the idea of trying it out though. Even if it is a good model, that one right there might be in bad shape.

Giottos is mainly known for their ball-heads for still photography. Their products are mainly targeted at people on a budget. I'd say the brand is about equal to Bogen/Manfrotto.
The BL 1150 looks identical to Libec LS-38 (at least the head; the legs are different). The Sony VCT-PG11RMB tripod also looks identical to the LS-38. This probably means the Giottos and the Sony are just rebadged Libec LS-38.
