Can anyone tell me the differences between the DSR500 and 570 please?

Is it the same CCD block?

Hi Mike

The DXC-D35, DSR 570 and 500 are all variants of the same head.

Effective picture elements 980x582(H x V)
Total picture elements 1038x594(H x V)

The DSR500
Horizontal Resolution 16:9 700 TV Lines/ 4:3 700 TV lines

DSR570,D35
Horizontal Resolution 16:9 800 TV Lines/ 4:3 850 TV lines

All 3 cameras cut together well in multicam setups.

Edit:These are the specs from the PAL models.

Thanks Scot!

If they are the same head, how come the 500 is lower rez?
I believe that the 500 also has additional studio/multicam features, is that right?

Sorry Mike typo on my DSR500 specs 16:9 750 lines 4:3 800 Lines

As you will see from the pdfs all specs are virtually identical but Sony found 50 more lines somewhere!

The DSR500 has a 26pin VTR compatiability but not CCU
The DSR570 has 26pin VTR and CCU functions

The pdf links will fill in the blanks.
