Hi-

UPS just delivered my Varizoom VZ-TFT7U 7-Inch Widescreen Color monitor. I just got done trying it out. So far I like it. It beats the on board one.

Is there a way to see the zebra stripes on an external monitor? The Varizoom connects to the RCA connection on the XL2. I see the zebras on the on-board monitor but not on the Varizoom. Not sure if zebras are possible.

Thanks...

Tim

Tim,

I will take an educated guess and the answer could be NO. I have owned a zillion cameras and never observed zebras on other than the EVF or as of late the LCD screen.

Thanks Lou!

I can deal with it. Thanks for the reply.

Tim, is the monitor under scanning the image? Can it?

Good question. I'm experimenting with the LDC in 16X9. There appears to be two modes. Ones called wide screen - the other called full screen.

The wide screen creates a funning "rolling effect" on each end of the screen when you pan to the right or to the left. In full screen mode it appears normal. You can also configure to 4x3 + two different "zoom" modes.

In full mode + wide screen mode the picture goes to the edges of the screen. It does not appear to be underscanning. That's if I understand your questions correctly
Thanks..

I got the TFT7U in October and did several scan tests to check out underscan, and did not notice it at all in either 16X9 or 4X3. I'll try to post my tests later...
